The NTLEA Strategic Plan has been a vision of the Executive Committee, consisting
of six full members and the CEO, in order to create a clear and concise direction for
the association and its members.
Throughout this process, there has been full support received from the NT Government, in particular the Department of resources, following a review of association funding and future capability of self-sufficient funding arrangements.
It is in the interest of the members that the association become a self-funded political and industry lobby group, capable of delivering feedback and direction to the peak bodies, councils and service providers within a clear format.
This Strategic Plan has been written up in full consultation with members, via personal interaction as well as attendance to the relevant state chapter AGM's of 2009, to deliver the intention of the NTLEA in developing this plan along with its intended outcomes in becoming a more streamlined and effective representative group.
With a great multitude of feedback via these meetings, we have been able to compile a
document that reflects the overall opinions of many people involved within different
organisations representing the livestock export industry.
Funding has been approved by the NT Government and Livecorp in the order of $25,000 each to enable the planning and execution of the programs and services outlined in this document.
The focus of this document is concentrated in three main areas:
- Member services and feedback
- Public awareness
- Political and peak body, relationships & communication
These three areas summarise the associations presence now and into the future in terms of where, how and why it needs to build this platform further.
The industry exists today within a robust and professional environment because of the
way the above three points have been managed in the past therefore it highlights the
need to continue good work and maintain a strong presence for northern stakeholders.
This document encapsulates information on the following areas:
- Vision/Mission Statements
- History of the Association and Industry
- Goals and Objectives
- SWOT Analysis
- Membership Status Renewal
- Developed Programs
There has also been a developed operational plan that focuses on day to day activities
of importance that is up for review on a regular basis (as circumstances change).
